Wine culture
In Slovenia the vineyards extend over
22.000 ha, where our wine-growers and winemakers produce between
800.000 and 1.000.000 hl of wine annually. We are proud to have the alleged oldest vine in the world, at Lent Maribor (blue kavčina), as well as its descendant at Ljubljana castle. There is yet another vine in the capital - Trstenjak Vine, in the very center of Ljubljana on Trubarjeva 3.
Our tradition is rich for sure. Winemaking has been highly developed already in the time of the ancient Romans. Between the two world wars, especially after the Second World War, the culture of wine drinking has slightlydeclined. But again today, we proudly talk about the quality of production, service and consumption of wine - that is the culture of wine drinking.
Since our company's mission is the preparation of top-most events for the presentation of Slovenian and foreign wines, winemakers and the spread of a culture of wine drinking, on our web site you can find many useful and interesting information. As already De Richelieu noted: "
Anyone who does not drink wine with food, is deprived of many pleasures. Anyone who drinks wine wrong, spoils the pleasure to himself and others."
